Joomla! version: (1.15.23)
PHP version: (5.2.17)
MySQL version: (5.0.92-community)
Host: (Rochen)
Akeeba Backup version: (3.3.3)

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue.

Description of my issue:

The large yellow warning box appears:

jQuery and/or jQuery UI have not been loaded. This usually means that you have to change the permissions of media/com_akeeba and all of its contents to a least 0644. Alternatively, click on "Parameters" and set the source for both of them to "Google AJAX API".

If you do not do that, the component will not work.

The permissions are fine. Redirect is fine, except for this:

www.\site\.com\/my-joomla-directory

meaning... should there be \ AND / before the name of the subdirectory that contains the Joomla installation?

In Parameters, where the manual suggests that I set jQuery sources to Google, my installation is missing the options to set those (they appear in the screen shot but my site does not have them). The first parameter I have is "Minimum access level.

Also, I cannot Save parameters (Save button does nothing). The Cancel button works just fine.

Hi Randy,

First, let's establish if the file can be loaded over the web or not. Try accessing it directly from a browser using http://www.yoursite.com/yourdirectory/media/com_akeeba/js/jquery.js

If the file loads, you have a plugin which screws around with the page source or the Javascript. First, check your Akeeba Backup main page source and search for com_akeeba/js/jquery.js. If this is nowhere to be found, you have one of those dumb-ass plugins whose authors decided that they know better and should REMOVE all instances of jquery.js from the page source. I would like to have them tarred, feathered and stringed (in that precise order). If this is the case, please send me a PM with Super Admin access to your site so that I can locate the stupid plugin and disable it. (Yes, I have seen at least two such plugins, which ultimately forced me to rename jquery.js in Akeeba Subscriptions to work around the same issue).

If, however, this does appear in the page source, you most likely have a Javascript conflict. In this case, again, send me a PM with Super Admin access to your site so that I can figure out what is going on.

Hi, Nicholas, and thanks. Yes, I did test and can see the file over the Web.

Yes, com_akeeba/js/jquery.js is in the page source.

I have to go out for most of the day, not sure when I can send you the rest of what you need.

Nicholas: I have to thank you publicly for your solution: restore .htaccess to vanilla Joomla; uninstall Admin Tools. Reinstall Admin Tools.

That solved every problem on this site that I have asked about in the past 4 months.

How about that!

Your usual excellent advice is greatly appreciated.

You're welcome!

Just note that from time to time I publish Admin Tools updates. Sometimes I tweak things in the .htaccess Maker due to bugs discovered in the meantime. So, just remember to go to .htaccess Maker and click on "Save and create .htaccess" after each Admin Tools update to keep the .htaccess file in tip-top shape :)
