Detected errors prohibit intended operation - This is probably a frequently asked question, but I can't see why I cannot backup... I've been backing up with Akeeba... for QUITE a while - my directory seems to be writeable and I have an .htaccess file in the directory as well...the site is a test site so it's in a directory within that site...

the site is www.elijahwebsolutions.com/The Island Reporter

I can give temp access if that helps...

Sorry... I figured it out... the directory was writeable but I had to change what directory was being used because the site was online in a test directory within an existing site...

Thanks!

That makes sense :)

Just a quick note for the benefit of future searches. If you are ever in doubt, just go to Akeeba Backup's Configuration page and set both the Output Directory and Temporary Directory to [DEFAULT_OUTPUT] (all caps, brackets included) and save the configuration. If you still receive the error message, make sure your administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup directory is writable. If in doubt, give it 0777 permissions (or make it writable by everyone on a Windows server). Don't worry about these permissions. This directory is protected by .htaccess and web.config files which make it inaccessible over the web, therefore mitigating the risk of using too broad permissions.
