Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the forum before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: 1.5.24
PHP version: 5.3.8
MySQL version: 5.0.51a
Host: one.com
Akeeba Backup version: 3.3.4 Pro

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue.

Description of my issue:

Hi all,

Unfortunately I have a few customers relying on hostingservices from one.com, and most of these are not willing to move to a different hosting provider, as they are running small private funded sites on a minimal budget.

They do however still want to have some sort of automated backup service, and I have tried to implement Akeeba 3.3.4 Pro for them.
And like with sites on other hostingproviders, I would like to schedule a weekly cronjob triggering the backup and uploading to a remote FTP box.

Now - I realize that there are perfomance issues at one.com, and using the troubleshooting document, I have managed to get the actual backup (packaging) running. But as soon I activate Remote FTP as post processing, to have the data transferred to my FTP, I receive the famous Ajax Loading Error saying:

An error occurred

AJAX Loading Error

HTTP Status: 500 (Internal Server Error)

Internal status: error

XHR ReadyState: 4

Raw server response:

I have tried using both IP and hostname for FTP configuration, without difference. I know the FTP box works, as I have other clients backup up to the same box using same software, each night.

I have registered this issue on 3 different one.com hotels, and am starting to wonder if there is really no way to do this from their servers? Perhaps they do not support some required class being used by Akeeba?

Any input appreciated - also if you do have this working on a one.com hosted site :)

Cheers,
Zorroson :)

Forgot to mention, that filesize is not the issue here, as my backups only contains the MySQL and mostly are about 500kb in size.

Also worth to mention is that the Ajax error happens if I click "Browse" og "Test FTP" in the Configuration page, after 1-2 secs. of executing..

Do you get any error message in your PHP error log right after you receive this internal server error?

Hi Nicholas,

Thats another thing counting against one.com - they do not provide error logs any more :( Only access logs - and they only give me the error 500 I allready had from the error message in the browser..

Ugh! That makes it impossible to debug this issue. How can we debug something if the error message is nowhere to be found? Shotgun debugging? Not my idea of fun :)

Well - I just had a chat with one.com support, and they say the issue with missing error logs is temporary and should be fixed in 1-2 weeks...

Nicholas,

I agree - tell you what, I say we close the thread for now, and the I'll come back later, when one.com have fixed the issue with logging.

Hopefully we then get something to work with!

That OK with you?

Cheers,
Zorroson

Yup, it's fine. I will need the error log to see what's going on anyway :)
