Mandatory information about my setup:

Joomla! version: 1.5.24
PHP version: 5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.1.56
Host: HostGator
Akeeba Backup version: 3.3.4

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue.

Description of my issue:

Folks,

At the moment, I am just looking for some guidance. I am running akeeba though 2 cron jobs. The first cron job backs up my core website, Joomla and the database. The second cron job backs up my content specific directories.

Both jobs complete normally, if I use akeeba through the joomla administration panel. However when I execute it through cron, both jobs do not complete. The following is the cron statement I am using:

/usr/bin/php5 /home/xxxxx/public_html/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup.php -profile=1 >/home/xxxxx/public_html/Backups/xxxxx-Core-Log.txt 2>&1

Any thoughts on why this may not be completing? When running through the administration panel, both profiles only take 2 minutes at most. Thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi, Joe

Is there anything in the redirected log file? Does the CRON job run without the redirect command? Is there anything in the Akeeba command line backup log for the failed CRON jobs?

The command line looks correct and backup.php does not use the front-end backup mode, so there is no issue regarding redirections in this case (this only applies when using altbackup.php or the front-end backup URL).

Do you get anything in the log files (xxxxx-Core-Log.txt and akeeba.cli.log) or are they empty? Can you try running the same command line from an SSH shell? The only thing that could be wrong here, as far as I can see at least, is /usr/bin/php5 not being the correct path to the PHP executable, but the only one who can confirm this is your host.

Nicolas,

I've attached my logs. The content backup worked last night. The core did not. I can tell by the extension not changing from j01 to jpa. Any help or guidance you could provide would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe,

OK, do you see how the last line of the akeeba.cli.log file is truncated? This tells me that you are running out of disk space with 100% confidence (I've seen it too many times over those last five years!). You simply need more disk space :)
