This suggestion actually pertains to both Akeeba Backup and Admin Tools. I have a suggestion for how the email updater works. I get the one click update in my email and click it to update the extension. On most sites this only updates the extension but does not fully log me in. I find that on all but rare occasions I have to log out and back in since this update blocks all the menus.

I tend to take this update opportunity to check the sites admin, go into both Admin Tools and Akeeba Backup and run the plugin enabler ect... I would like to suggest either give us an option to fully login when performing the update or give us a parameter that we could choose how we want to log in.

Just a suggestion but may be worth getting the opinion of others to see how they work with your fantastic tools...;)

Actually the problem is a bit different. Joomla! 1.6.0-BETA1 up to and including Joomla! 1.7.1 suffered from a feature/bug which had limited the session storage size to 32Kb (on 1.5 it is up to 2Gb). This causes the session to crash after a component upgrade, which causes the ACLs of that session to reset, which causes no menu items to appear and lose access to all components. I fixed that and the fix made it to Joomla! 1.7.2. So, if you are using Joomla! 1.5 or Joomla! 1.7.2 or greater you have no problem. Otherwise, you do have the problem you mention. I can't do anything except suggesting to upgrade to Joomla! 1.7.3. Sorry.

Thanks Nic, I will have to note this with any new updates that come in. I do have several sites that are version 1.5.25 and the rest are 1.7.3 (no 1.6 sites). Its more annoying than anything but I can just manually login instead of using the link. Just thought it might be an option that we could choose from, no big deal though...;)
