Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes

Joomla! version: 1.5.23
PHP version: 5.3.9
MySQL version: 5.1.56
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Akeeba Backup version which took the backup: Pro 3.3.11
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: 3.3.2

Description of my issue:

I have successfully run kickstart many times, but am now getting the following error:

Invalid AJAX data received:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function uncomp() in /home/planetha/public_html/test1/kickstart.php on line 3937

I get the above both with the "Directly" and "Use FTP: options.

My host has recently upgraded to PHP 5.3.9. Could this be the problem? Any known fixes or workarounds? Or do I now need to extract locally and upload?

Thanks!

This is a known bug, affecting a very small number of servers. Please use eXtract Wizard to extract the archive locally, upload all files by FTP and access the Akeeba Backup Installer script directly, e.g. http://www.example.com/installation/index.php to complete the restoration of your site. Once you are done, you can remove the installation directory, as prompted by the Akeeba Backup Installer at the end of the restoration process.
