Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? yes

Joomla! version: (2.5)
PHP version: (5.2.7)
MySQL version: (5.5.19-55)
Host: (Hostgator)
Akeeba Backup version which took the backup: (3.3.12)
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: (3.3.2)

Akeeba Kickstart.php opens apparently normally with the "Things You Should Know" message overlay, but already the main window behind is not showing the green START button. When I close the message I am unable to start the extraction because there is no START button (The words start are there in lower case but have no function) in all other respects the Restore page looks normal, the archive is there and is correct. I have tried with several different domains in the the same host server and the result is the same.

Which browser are you using? I've tested with Chrome 14 and later, Firefox 10, Safari 5 and IE9 on Mac OS X Lion, Ubuntu Linux, Windows XP Home and Windows 7 Home Premium. In all cases everything shows up correctly. Maybe you have an older browser or a browser plugin interfering with the display of Kickstart's interface?

My profound apologies, I have traced the problem to a network connection. It seems obscure but my system had selected a 3G network over the normal DSL line, and something in that link was the cause.
