Mandatory information about my setup:

Joomla! version: 2.5.8
PHP version: 5.4.63.6.9
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: tried pro and core 3.6.0, which didn't work, so I extracted using the extract wizard for MAC OS and then uploaded the files via ftp.

Description of my issue:

Case solved. (this post, only to report a solution for some of the blank screens after a restore).

after uploading a restore, extracted on my MAC as both Kickstart reported errors, via FTP, all the steps went smooth, except that the website was remaining blank (whatever the browser). Only the backend via the joomla administrator was running well.

As the template (from Joomlart) was running on JA T3 framework, I decided to reinstall the full template starting by reinstalling the JA T3 framework which was supposed to be integral part of the backup made wih Akeeba (apparently the JA T3 folders were there after the backup).

Only by reinstalling the JA T3 framework plugin, then my website was back on-line with everything configured as at backup time.

Best,

yves

Hello Yves,

I believe that you should check your backup log and make sure that no warnings were received talking about unreadable files and folders. Either that, or the plugin somehow stores an absolute path / URL which is no longer available when you restore your site.
