Description of my issue:

As I cannot access the site at the moment, I cannot give clean answers to some of these questions.

A few weeks ago, before I ubderstood the implications properly of converting from Joomla 2.5.8 to 3.0.x, I did the conversion and before losing access, it was 3.0.2. I decided to try to restore to 2.5.8 using a backup (Akkebabackup) made before upgrading to 3.0.2.

It was reported that the restore was successful, but when I try to access the website or ny administrator page I get the error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class JDatabaseInterface in /home/[webuser]/public_html/libraries/joomla/database/driver.php on line 19

any suggestions?

When restoring a backup from a different version of Joomla! than the one currently being used by the site you have to delete all of the site's files and folders (at least those containing PHP files). In any other case the site will be broken.
