Description of my issue:
Hi there,

I want to install a copy of our website artsfairfax.org in a sub directory for testing out the new Joomla version 3.0 and our extensions. I added a new subfolder for the new site, added the kickstart.php file, the jpa file, and the kicktemp folder. Before I proceed with the installation, will I have any issues with our current (live) web site under artsfairfax.org when using the same folders for:

Temporary Directory
/home/acfc2/public_html/tmp

Logs Directory
/home/acfc2/public_html/logs

The Cache Directories uses the subdirectory under which I extracted all files.
/home/acfc2/public_html/subdirectoryname/cache

Hello Henrik,

You should never share the tmp and log directories between sites. It's not so much of a functionality issue as much as a security one. I would recommend when restoring to the subdirectory to use the "Use folders under site's root" checkbox to use the tmp and log directories under the subdirectory.

Thanks Nicholas,

You confirmed what I thought.

One last question. To enable the checkbox "Use folders under site's root," where do I do that? I am on the first screen (Check page) during the Joomla restoration process.

It's on the second to last page ("Site setup").
