Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: (unknown) 2.5.8
PHP version: (unknown): 5.3.19
MySQL version: (unknown): 5.5.28
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you) Domain Factory
Akeeba Backup version which took the backup: (unknown): Akeeba Backup Professional 3.7.2
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: (unknown)

Description of my issue:

Blank page in frontend and backend after successfull restoration via Site transfer wizard or kickstart.

When i restore the page from my current host hosteurope to Domainfactory, i get only an blank page. In Fact activating the debugging option in the  configuration.php plus logging shows, that the error is coming right from the initalisiation of joomla (JFactory::getApplication('site')). That means the installation is even not logging nor debugging.

Any ideas?

There are exactly three possibilities:

  • Partial backup
  • Partial restoration
  • You are restoring on top of an old site which is on an a different Joomla! version.

I'd start investigating from third to first.
