Mandatory information about my setup:

Joomla! version: 2.5.9
PHP version: (unknown)
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Akeeba Backup version which took the backup: Current
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: Current

Description of my issue:
I am trying to restore a site that I accidentally backed up the stats folder. Now I get an error that the extraction failed because the stats/.htaccess file cannot be written in. I remember that an easy fix is run another backup and exclude the stats folder but that is no longer an option for me. Is there a way to strip out the stats folder from the archive? Is there any other workaround?
I'm desparate.
Thanks
Bob Stansish

Hi Bob,

did you tried to check the Ignore most errors check?
If this still fails, you can extract your backup locally, upload everything to your server and continue your installation from there.
