Running Joomla 3.1.4 on an in-development site when all of a sudden things today I could no longer produce a viable backup. Spent hours trying to figure out why the site wouldn't back up.

After gigabytes and gigabytes of data back and forth from this host to that host to try to get the backup to load somewhere, I figured it out.

I had memcache turned on in Global Config and that kept it from loading at all until I set it back to file by editing configuration.php

Might help someone down the road.

That's a good suggestion. I will update the troubleshooter documentation for the next release.
