Akeeba Backup version which took the backup: (unknown) PRO
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: (unknown) 3.7.1

Description of my issue:
I have successfully used your product for a while. I installed a new version of Wampserver and wanted to restore a backup of my primary website. Kickstart ran until completion. When I try to open the website, instead of opening the website my system tries to download a file instead of opening the website. I was able to install & run a pristine joomla installation on this Wampserver installation. I made the Wampserver changes recommended on your support site.

Weird, huh? I'm lost and would appreciate your assistance. Thanks in advance...

Replace the .htaccess file on your restored site with the one from your clean Joomla! site. You have directives in the .htaccess file that are not compatible with your Wampserver setup. On a local server you can probably just rename .htaccess to htaccess.txt to get the site to load.
