Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes but don't think I understand
Joomla! version: (unknown) 2.5.14
PHP version: (unknown)5.4 I think
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you) Siteground
Akeeba Backup version which took the backup: (unknown) 3.7.4
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: (unknown)

Description of my issue: I had been uninstalling Fabrik component and plugins
I now get this error JLIB_APPLICATION_ERROR_COMPONENT_NOT_LOADING
and the front end is now showing error 400.

I have a backupo dated 17 Sep 13 which is current enough but I'm not confident to use the reinstall facility. I have never tried it before and I don't want to end in a bigger mess. I know you have issed warning, but I could do with some assistance please.

You need to upload your archive and the contents of our Kickstart utility to the root of your site.

You are going to use Kickstart to extract your archive and overwrite the files that are already there. At the end of the extraction, Kickstart will give you a link to the Installation script.

The installation script will restore your backup and allow you to make changes to the configuration of your site that would be necessary if you moved your site to another host. Since this is a same host restore, all of these options should be filled in for you and should be correct.

When the install script finishes, it will give you an opportunity to delete the /installation folder (this is ncessary for your site to function correctly) and clean up the backup archive.

What could be simpler? :-)

You can find the details in our Quick Start Guide here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/quick-start-guide/restoring-backups.html. You probably should read that before you go any further.
