When we get a blank page on Step 6 of Kickstart when we try to "run the installer" ...

What additional troubleshooting steps should we take after we confirm that we are using the correct version of php for the version of Akeeba we used to create the initial backup?

The directory ownership and permissions for the restore seem correct:
domain admin
www
775

We do notice the /installation directory ownership and permissions in the restore are different than the rest of the restore:
www
www
755

We tried "running the installer" both before and after changing the /installation directory and file ownership and permissions to match the rest of the restore.

We still seem to get a blank page for this step of the restore.

Note: when we return to the Kickstart page after seeing the blank page, we do see the Clean Up button. There is a configuration.php (and .htaccess) file in the restored and extracted directory, but since the installation script does not seem to be running successfully, those files are blank.

(Thanks, still trying to complete a test restore of our first backup using Akeeba).

PHP 5.2.17 is not compatible with Akeeba Backup Professional 3.6, Kickstart 3.8 or the installation scripts put in backup archives by Akeeba Backup 3.6. Moreover PHP 5.2 has been end of life since January 2011 and is considered vulnerable and insecure, completely unsuitable for production sites. Please upgrade to PHP 5.4. It's faster, it's actively maintained, it's safe.
