I tried searching your forums and just google in general for help with this but perhaps I am not asking the right questions - although I did search for the error message. I do think it is an akeeba restoration issue.

I cannot update Joomla, I cannot install any extensions. I can't even update Akeeba.

I copied a brand new htaccess.txt file from a joomla install package, and then changed it to .htaccess - but nothing has changed.

Below is the error I get when I try to install or update anything. I upload package or install from temporary directory.

Thank you for any help you can provlde and if this has already been answered somewhere I am really sorry - but I just can't seem to find it.

Dawn

Akeeba Staff
Hello Dawn,

are you restoring it on a remote server or locally?
Please double check if the temporary directory of Joomla has the correct permissions.

If still fails, please try enabling FTP layer inside Joomla global configuration
