I have run the akeeba backup script many times and put the same joomla page on another temporary folder. Now I get the error after extraction and using the installer that:

An error occurred while restoring the database. The error message can be found below. Click on the × button at the top right of this dialog message to close it and return to the database restoration page.

SQL= error (see screenshot)

I have tried with Force UTF8 but no luck, I try to run the backup script multiple times but no luck either. Did a repair on the table but no luck. Any idea in which direction I have to search to solve this error?

What version of Akeeba Backup was used to create that backup archive? That bug was fixed in 4.2.4 and we've had confirmation from several clients that the fix worked. If the backup was created by a prior version of Backup, the bug would still be embedded in the installer script.

hello Dale,

It was generated in 4.2.4
After some hours of trying I found the problem by accident, the writing right on the database were not set correctly. Meaning the user had no right to read/write on that database. Stupid mistake, but perhaps this can be included in the error message. Now it only said SQL= while if there was mentioned anything on rights or user it was easier to fix ;) Just a tip for the next release.

Thanks for the help.

Nicolas says that he fixed the error message a few days ago. That fix will be included in the next release.
