Hi, preparing to a hosting provider change and my first restoration. Need one confirmation and have one question.
I have many sites within my root, /public_html/site1, /public_html/site2, etc, each one with a specific backup.
I think I have to put the kickstart and backup file in each subdirectory in my new provider, not in the root directory. Right ?
And now the question : in the video, in the installation step after the extraction one, I saw that you have to fill the database name. This name MUST be the same as in the backuped site, or can we change the name of the database ? If it must be the same, why it is not stored with the backup file ?
Thank you and best regards.
By the way, I use Akkeba solo, the mandatory Joomla version makes no sense.

Correct.

You can change it. That's why it's an editable field :)

It is stored in the backup archive, namely the installation/sql/databases.json file. The database restoration page is only prefilled with the saved values if and only if you are restoring your site to the exactly same URL as the original site. If you are restoring to a different URL the implicit assumption is that you are very likely restoring on a different server which very likely needs a different database name. That's why it appears blank.
