Hello All:

I run on Inmotion hosting VPS server / Linux

I perform a backup of my development site using most recent Akeeba Backup (pro)

I move the backup and kickstart to a new subdomain for testing

I successfully restore and all works.

I have a subdirectory under my Joomla home directory called "csp_scripts"

Within that directory, I have a couple of bash scripts that I use for various tasks including some nightly crons

On the original system (from which the backup was made) the permissions for the .bash files is 0754

However, when restored to the new subdomain, the permissions are set to 644

I suspect this is change is at the hands of the hosting company and/or some other Linux level issue

However, before I go there, I wanted to ask if you have any advice or input that might help me better define the issue for my hosting company.

Thanks,

Bruce Decker

Hello,

by default files permissions are restored to 644 and folders to 755. If you want to keep the original file permissions, you have to check the option

Please note that Kickstart can only restore the original permissions, not ownership.

That should do the trick.
