I restored a Joomla website from one domain (name.it) to a new domain (new.name.it). The website works well, but in the administrator panel all actions show this error "Call to undefined function php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known()".

The site is: https://new.dirittopenitenziarioecostituzione.it/

To restore I used kickstart 7.0.6 and Akeeba Pro 8.0.8. The site is Joomla 3.9.26 and php 7.3.29.

Can you help me?

Thank you in advance.

Please show this message to SiteGround and let them know that it means that they have misconfigured their server. This message literally means that the server you are on does not know how to resolve domain names to IP addresses which means that either resolv.conf is broken on their server or it points to a non-existent name (DNS) server. As a result your site fails to communicate with the outside world.

Alternatively, it could simply mean that the PHP process has somehow lost its ability to perform local network requests which might necessitate a restart of the PHP-FPM process. In fact, they should try that first as it's more likely to happen (and has happened to me on macOS, on a computer I know six different ways is configured correctly, not least of all that I had to edit resolv.conf manually to prioritise IPv4 to help a third party PHP application work at all).

Thank you Nicholas for you reply,

I send your reply to Siteground, that solved the problem, due to a misconfiguration of DNS on the two different panels (site.ext and new.site.ext) for the same main domain...

Thank you again.
