#35727 kickstart startup keeps popping up

Hi,
Today I'm trying to install another site locally in MAMP OSX.
Same issue as last ticket.

Kickstart runs and after extracting I get (see screen)
message: Restoration and Clean Up
button: Run the Installer

And start all over again.

I did try to delete installation folder but since extractions starts over again this folder is also generated again.

Any idea what could be the cause of this?

Click on Run the Installer.

Go through the restoration.

Close the browser tab with the restoration script.

Close Kickstart's tab.

Delete the installation directory.

For what it's worth, your problem most likely happens because you have a really old version of Kickstart which predates modern browsers by several years. Please consider updating Kickstart.

I think your right about the version.

Does it make any difference what version Akeeba, joomla or php I use.

Joomla version, no. It's irrelevant. Kickstart only extracts the backup archive, it does not perform the restoration. The restoration is performed by the restoration script which is part of the backup archive.

Akeeba Backup version, yes. Kickstart 5, 6 and 7 support JPA and ZIP backup archives created with Akeeba Backup 3.3 or later; and JPS archives created with Akeeba Backup 6 or later.

PHP version, yes. See https://www.akeeba.com/compatibility.html for the supported PHP versions.

It's important to note that web browsers do change over time. Kickstart 5 and 6 predate modern browsers with additional JavaScript restrictions. You need to use Kickstart 7. That was the problem that you had.
