Hello,

When I try to reinstall an old website I got this error.

No database definitions were found or no database was selected.

What can I do?

Thx

Peter

I'm sorry, but Akeeba Backup 3.6.9 had not been supported for ten years now. I can however tell you that it will MOST DEFINITELY NOT RUN ON PHP 7.4 as PHP 7.4 was released 8 years after Akeeba Backup 3.6.9. That version of Akeeba Backup you are using was only meant to be used with PHP 5.2 and 5.3. Likewise, the site you are trying to restore will not run on PHP 7.4 for the same reason.

If you do not have a PHP 5.2 or 5.3 server at hand you will not be able to restore the site. Even if you did a manual restoration the restored site wouldn't work. Therefore your only chance of restoring that site is, indeed, to find a server with an antiquated version of PHP which was current a whopping 10 years ago...
