I've struggled and struggled with Joomla 4 and have not succeeded in getting it to work for me. My website is a total mess, and just gets worse. I'm thinking there is something inherently wrong with the installation and that no amount of tinkering is going to get it working properly. It is very frustrating. I've been working on this now since 24 Oct and feel like it's a rather useless exercise.

So, now I'm wondering if I can restore my website back to Joomla 3. Is this possible? I have a backup which I took prior to upgrading. It consists of 63 files including:

akeeba.backend.id-20221023-231554-743591.log.php

Can I do a restore using this? I'm assuming I would use KickStart. I haven't yet checked on documentation. I've read so much documentation as I've pursued looking for solutions to the problems I've been having that I'm documented out!!!

I'd appreciate help on this. Thanks.

Blessings,

Fran

Keep a copy of your backup archive files on your computer. This is to make sure that if something bad happens you can go back.

Remove all files and folders from your site.

Upload kickstart.php and all the backup archive files (not the .log.php, that's just a log file).

Access kickstart.php from your browser. You can now restore your site back to its backed up state.
