Ever since Akeeba Backup for Joomla 10 we are using a different restoration script called Akeeba Backup Restoration Script. This is no longer compatible with UNiTE, but it does have its own CLI restoration feature built into it. You can replicate everything you were doing with UNiTE using Akeeba Remote CLI for remote backups, Kickstart (which has offered a CLI mode since many years ago) to extract the backup archive, and BRS's CLI mode to automate the restoration.
