I just downloaded Kickstart v9.0.1 and noticed that it only included the php file and not the ini or pem files.Are these no longer needed, or should I use the ones I already have? Thanks.

They were never needed. You can get a newer cacert.pem from cURL's site, as per the documentation. As for the INI file, I will add a feature in Kickstart to generate it in case you want to translate it.
