Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

I have used restore from an Akeeba backup to transfer a Joomla 5 website onto a new, Cpanel server.

While I can use the Cpanel to edit and save files, in Joomla, though I can open a file, eg an Article or a system file, I cannot save or close it - just produces a message:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access this resource.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.#

Do you think this Is a result of the restoration or something to do with the server?

As far as I can see all the files have their usual permissions 755, and 644 - and the configuration file contains nothing out of the way.

I have not come across this particular problem before.

Thank you,

Richard Ball

No, this is not file permissions. If that was the case you would be getting the 403 trying to access any page of the site.

The information I have if a bit sparse, but it appears that the problem may come from a security solution installed in your server (not your site). Can you ask your host to check that? It wouldn't make sense to waste your time chasing something on your site if the problem comes from the server.
