Hello,
I'm trying to deploy a .jpa backup using Kickstart.
I deleted all my files via FTP and uploaded the archive and the kickstart.php file—something I've done successfully dozens of times before.

But this time it crashes quickly, with this error:
Could not open /homepages/7/d982663599/htdocs/logs/.htaccess for writing

I tried changing the access and write permissions for the folder and the file, but it didn't make a difference.

Can you help me?

That's because the logs folder is owned by your host, therefore you cannot write into it.

Normally, the backup automatically excludes this folder, and it's been doing that since the Joomla 3 days. I am not sure how you ended up with this backup.

That said, there is a workaround. Select the Ignore most errors option in Kickstart to skip over unwritable files. It was made with two use cases in mind, one of which is what you are up against right now.
