I have been looking for a new web hosting co to host my Joomla sites. Sadly, no one speaks joomla any more, everything is Word Press. I’m too old to learn new tricks.
So I’m trying BlueHost. I want to do an Akeeba backup restore on it. I’m working w/ a temp URL until the site gets established and checked out when I will point my permanent URL (jeffstalzer.com, hosted on Hover) at it. I have done the restore successfully in the past (e.g.on Hostgater). I was trying to set up an FTP account but BlueHost does this differently (at least w/ temporary URL). From FTP you do not see public_html but you can set up an FTP that points to that directory at the top.
Can I do an Akeeba backup restore on BlueHost? Any special instructions or procedures.

BTW the BlueHost temp URL is: https://website-7d19ce1d.pmh.cbt.mybluehost.me/

Nothing special is necessary. You have a temporary subdomain, not a temporary URL. This works fine. Just leave Live Site URL empty in the Site Setup page.

What you definitely need is an FTP account you can use to upload the backup archive and Kickstart into the public_html directory.

Also, do not forget to create a database, a database user, and give the database user full permissions to the database. It's usually this third step in creating database credentials people forget.
