Chapter2.Using the plugin

1.Installation, activation, and uninstallation

AITiny is only available to paying subscribers. If you haven't already subscribed to AITiny, please do so on our site.

To download the plugin, first log into our site, then go to the Download page. Find the AITiny item and click on its red download button.

Important

This should download a file named something like plg_aitiny-1.2.3.zip. If you got a bunch of files instead, STOP!

The problem is that you're using Safari on a Mac, but its default settings are confusing and problematic. Go to Safari, and click on Safari, Settings… from the top menu. Click on the General tab, then uncheck the ‘Open “safe” files after downloading’ option. Download AITiny again. You now have the correct package ZIP file you can install on your site.

Go to your site's administrator back-end, and click on System. Find the Install area and click on Extensions. Click on the Upload Package File tab. Click the green button and find the package ZIP file you have downloaded. This will install the plugin.

You can now go to System, Manage, Plugins and find the System - AITiny plugin. Clicking on it you can configure and enable it.

Once the plugin is enabled and configured you will see a new AI button in your TinyMCE / JCE toolbar – wherever you are editing any kind of content using TinyMCE / JCE. Do note that this plugin only works with Joomla's TinyMCE editor and JCE (both the free version, and the Professional version). It does not work with other editors.

If you want to uninstall the plugin go to System, Manage, Extensions and look for AITiny. Make sure to only select the extension with a type of Package. Then click on Actions, Uninstall to remove it.
